Austin Giles, an interim manager who works with Eton Bridge Partners, gave Recruitment Grapevine a glimpse at life behind the scenes of an interim’s role during a large divestment project.
What was the brief?
In April 2013, the board of this FTSE 100 FMCG organisation made the decision to divest two of its market-leading drink brands.
Separating the business involved the transfer of some 650 people from 14 countries, migrating 135 IT applications, mobilising a project team of nearly 300 working across five continents in 23 markets through 11 functional work streams and assigning over 1000 contracts all in 3.5 months.
To deliver this complex and time challenged project, the organisation engaged with Eton Bridge Partners to identify an external experienced Programme Director who could develop, implement and manage the integrated plan, which brought together the internal and external members of the project team.
