International Women’s Day: Balance for Better in the Boardroom

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Eton Bridge Partners are proud to be celebrating International Women’s Day.

We strongly believe in equal opportunities and the right to be treated without discrimination, especially on the grounds of gender, race or age. 64% of the Eton Bridge Partners team are women and 33%  of the Management Team is represented by Senior Female Colleagues.

In the past year we have seen a significant increase in the number of women in the boardroom, suggesting that diverse boards recognise the value this brings to the table not just because gender equality is morally right, but because it makes good business sense.

It is widely acknowledged that companies with the greatest percentage of women on their boards are more likely to enjoy increased profits above their industry average compared with ones with the least.

A recent Hampton-Alexander Review article ‘Improving Gender Balance in FTSE Leadership’ predicts to achieving a 33% target for women on boards and in leadership teams of FTSE 350 companies by 2020. The goal and benefits for these businesses are within reach.

However, this success requires collective action from all stakeholders and every FTSE company to play their part.  The evidence is clear – diverse boards outperform their rivals.

Every one of us has a part to play as we continue to harness the skills of women for the benefit of business and the UK economy.

Here’s to our women in business!
