Meet David

David is a specialist working with private equity-backed businesses on M&A integration, buy & build consolidation and pre-deal diligence. His focus is on what creates lasting value: EBITDA growth, clear operating models, and building organisations that are genuinely ready for sale.

His integration career began in 1999 at British Steel, supporting a $100m French mill acquisition and the subsequent merger with Hoogovens to form Corus Group plc. After four years in Transaction Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers, he joined Clear Channel to lead value creation following Bain Capital’s $26bn LBO, delivering a global operating model, £100m cost reduction, £40m working capital improvement and digital revenue growth from $20m to $200m across 26 markets.

David is the author of M&A Playbook: The Art & Science of Integration (2025) and co-founded The Agile Gorilla collective of independent M&A specialists.

He combines an engineer’s instinct for systems-thinking with the commercial discipline of a seasoned PE advisor, cutting through complexity to keep organisations focused and outward-looking through the hardest parts of a transaction.

Outside work, David lives in Cambridge. He spent ten years coaching youth rugby at Shelford RFC and has been a long-standing mentor and selector for the Royal Academy of Engineering’s scholarship programme for engineering undergraduates.
