Proud moment

My proudest moment was dancing in the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, raising the profile of the NHS and my home city, around the world.

Favourite era

I would travel to the 1920s if I could- I would have loved the exuberance of the Roaring Twenties; the Charleston is my favourite of all the ballroom dances. Dramatic social and political reform of women’s rights in this period also make it a fascinating time in history for me.
