With over 20 years of experience across the UK, Europe & US within the human resources market, Toby leads our Human Resources Search Practice with an operational focus on reward leadership assignments.

Having forged a strong track record in delivering high-end reward assignments he also leads Eton Bridge’s reward offering, providing both permanent and interim solutions. Toby’s core specialist knowledge areas are: performance, remuneration committee, executive remuneration, total reward & wellbeing, benefits & pensions, governance & risk management, and global mobility.

Toby’s passion sits with the belief that a more joined-up, collaborative approach across the breadth of the HR function can have a huge impact on the culture and performance of an organisation. Whilst Toby operates across the whole private sector, he has particular expertise within business to consumer, professional services and hi-tech sectors.

Toby started his career in 1999 and spent his early years recruiting in finance. He quickly developed a keen interest in the role human resources can play in driving business transformation and joined the HR recruitment practice of a FTSE 100. Toby then spent 5 years with a well-respected niche search & interim firm, before joining Eton Bridge as part of the original team back in September 2010.

Outside of work Toby is a regular golfer, a keen walker and loves to cook with his family whenever possible.

Proud moment

My proudest moment was in 2015; I convinced the rest of the leadership team that I should focus on setting up the niche specialism of Reward and then loving every minute of it!

Aerial view of a golf course surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant blooming pink shrubs, with sand bunkers and putting greens visible—a paradise fit for any Reward Specialist seeking a serene retreat.

Childhood aspirations

Growing up I wanted to be either an English teacher or some kind of explorer searching for treasure (aged 10). I talked too much and loved the idea of adventure and discovery!

Toby is great to work with because he gets to the core of what is needed, and certainly understands what good looks like in Reward. In the most recent search he conducted for me, he provided three great candidates, from which I hired one excellent individual.
